This canopy is the later
type birdcage canopy. Most late production F4U-1 aircraft, particularly those
in Marines service, had the rear fuselage windows painted over or deleted.
Fill In the shaded area on the kit fuselage at the lines marked X and Y. For
the internal armourglass, cut a piece from the backing sheet to the shape
shown and fit it inside the windscreen as marked Z.

Cut away the kit fuselage
at the lines marked X and Y. Fit the headrest fairing in place, then fit the
rear window piece over this. Refer to drawing 1 for the shape and placement
of the internal armourglass.
